Question:
When I perform a band matching (composite data set) and compare the band surfaces with those listed in the gel processing window, I obtain different values for the same bands. How is this possible?
Answer:
In the gel processing window, only the band heights are shown. In the Comparison window, however, you can choose between band heights, surfaces, relative surfaces, and when defined, two-dimensional band volumes, relative volumes, or concentrations. These settings can be changed in the Fingerprint type window (in the Experiments panel) using Settings > Comparative quantification.
